URGENT HELP NEEDED AT WOODSIDE CEMETERY

CLAD has worked closely with the Friends at Woodside Cemetery throughout our campaign.  They have been instrumental in raising awareness of our situation and in gathering signatures that were handed into Parliament.  We need to continue our work together to help them save their cemetery from  the new threat of housing an Art Eco Hub.  Read more about this threat.  Please show your gratitude and pledge your support by signing their e-petition.

WRITE LETTERS

Lobby your Parliamentary Candidates around the UK to find out where they stand on the use of Cherry Lane Cemetery to house a dual carriageway.  A letter has been drafted for download in a PDF format.   (If you would like it in a different format, you can email us with your request).  Once we know which MPs are on our side, we can look to effect real change to protect our cemetery.  Unsure who is standing in your area?  Go to the YourNext MP site.

The Secretary of State in charge of overseeing the Heathrow expansion and ultimately to put the road through the cemetery is Lord Adonis. His address is: Department for Transport, 1/26 Great Minster House, 76 Marsham Street, London SW1P 4DR

Tell the media that you want the cemetery to have greater prominence in the newspapers, on the radio and on the television. Write to international media companies so that people living abroad can see the threat we all face.

Ask your church ministers and religious leaders to denounce the use of the cemetery for a dual carriageway. Ask them to release statements to the press, write to Government officials and sign the petition - remember by allowing the Government and Big Business to decimate our cemetery, there will be far-reaching implications for the moral code of our society and national identity.
